To do so would cause absolute chaos for football

To anyone who has witnessed a game at the American Airlines Center, you know it's a great venue, always a great crowd, and always die-hard supportive. Yet the Stars post a better record outside of Dallas. At home, the Stars post a 3-3-3, and a record of 6-3-3 on the road. It is true the Stars have been on the road a lot, but the road trip is supposed to be when the wheels fall off, notin front of the home fans.Even more concerning is the fact that the Stars now play seven of their next nine at home, four of which will be in a row. Anyone else not liking the way the evidence points hereSure, the Starssimplify things on the road, that much is clear. Possibly, their focus is better after the long trip, or the team even finds relaxation in the luxury suites they enjoy.

Problem is this is a teamthat's supposed to win in front of theirfans, not the other guy's.The Stars need to learn what is working on the road can work at home.Simplify, don't take stupid penalties, and above all, keep it simple. These tried and true parts of their game have been successful on the road, and for their three wins on home ice.The Stars consistently put a great product on the ice, and this team is one of the most talent-packed I have seen in years, yet they struggle every other game. All I know is, after this seven of nine if the Stars don't have their mind together and play like they should I'll pay attention to the baby stars. Not only are AHL tickets cheaper, the Texas Stars also actually win games in Cedar Park (north of Austin)! The Stars face the New Jersey Devils at 7 PM at American Airlines Center. For those interested in Texas Stars' product they face the Milwaukee Admirals Friday night at Ceder Park Center at 7:30 PM..

RC of was responsible for this week’s Fourth & 1 Roundtable debate topic.Click here to see the full article .This Week’s Topic : Thinking back to the players that you targeted in drafts at the beginning of the season, which one or two players have been the biggest disappointments What kind of additional information do you think you could use to avoid selecting this type of underachieving player in 2010My Response : A couple of players that I targeted in fantasy drafts this year were Calvin Johnson and Carolina’s Steve Smith. Both Wide Receivers were coming off of big years and came with high expectations. However, a closer look at both of their situations would have revealed some red flags. Calvin Johnson had little talent around him on offense to take away some of the pressure that he faces from week to week. He also had to rely on an unproven Rookie QB in Matthew Stafford or washed up Daunte Culpepper. Plus, Carolina did not provide him a legitimate complimentary receiver They don’t have a solid No 2 WR, slot receiver, or even a pass-catching Tight End It’s Smith and that’s it. Finally, the way Jake Delhomme imploded in the playoffs, especially when the Panther didn’t solidify their QB depth, should have been the last straw.Next year, when I am investing an early pick on a Wide Receiver I am going to make sure he has a stable QB.Panelists RC of Ryan Lester of Paul Greco of Bryce McRae of Kurt Turner of Eric Stashin of Lee of Smitty of Jacob of Hatty of Friday Bonus:Check out Derek Jeter's Hottest Girlfriends List ..

World Number 1 Roger Federer will face the Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the 1st night match of the 2009 ATP Masters Cup at the O2 Arena in London.Verdasco stunned the tennis world earlier this year when he beat Andy Murray and Jo Wilfred Tsonga to reach the Semi Final of the Australian Open.Verdasco also gave Rafael Nadal a real scare in the Semi Final before eventually losing an epic 5 set encounter.Last year Verdasco starred for Spain when he led his country to victory in the Davis Cup Final in Argentina in the absence of Rafael Nadal.Verdasco also reached the Semi Final in Valanecia 2 weeks ago but he lost to Andy Murray 6-3 2-6 6-3.Federer on the other hand has enjoyed a very sucessful season, he won the French Open for the 1st time in his career, and he won Wimbledon for a 6th time which gave him the 15th Grand Slam title of his career, this made the Swiss maestro the most prolific Grand Slam winner in the history of the game.It is hard to see Verdasco upsetting the Odds and beating Federer.. FIFA have dashed the Republic of Ireland's hopes of replaying their World Cup qualifying play-off with France. The Football Association of Ireland requested a replay after Thierry Henry's clear handball in the build-up to William Gallas' decisive goal.Thierry Henry admitted to handling the ball, but it doesn't mean anything to the Irish, who were absolutely sensational throughout the gamethey played their hearts out and deserve to be in South Africa next year. The goal has created an outrage in the football world, many have blasted Henry for having no morals and drawn comparisons to Diego Maradonas "Hand of God" goal.Irish supporters rightly claim they have been robbed of an opportunity to be part of the World Cup.Its a real shame to see the Irish bow out especially after seeing how Ireland dominated the game, the level of passion and spirit showed by Giovanni Trappatonis men was truly spectacular.Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn has described the event as the greatest injustice in sport.Former Republic of Ireland midfielder Ray Houghton has called for FIFA president Sepp Blatter to make a public statement on the decision by football's world governing body."Where is Sepp Blatter Why hasn't he come out and stood up and told everyone how it is.""He's very good at telling other countries how to run their game. It really needed the top man to come out and tell the footballing public why they have made this decision."If you have a look at how FIFA responded to this controversy, you might begin to question the credibility of the games leading body.FIFA stated that the result of the match cannot be changed and the match cannot be replayed because it is clearly mentioned in the laws of the game that decisions taken by the referee are final.A statement released by FIFA reads :"There is no way the game can replayed."To do so would cause absolute chaos for football. If it was replayed then every match in the future would also be subject to these calls for a replay any time a referee misses an incident"FIFA's rules are absolutely clear. Law 5 states that a referee's decision on points of fact are final That is the end of it.
